Gate Officer

Description

Incumbent will perform security and safety verifications of all vehicles, members, visitors, and personnel entering and exiting the Morongo Reservation; safeguarding the lives, property and rights of tribal members and guests. Prepare and maintain a variety of reports and logs related to activities. Some dispatching using two-way radio communications & typing into a dispatch log program. Provide other security enforcement services as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Six months previous security experience preferred 
  • Possession of a current California Guard Card 
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire. 
  • Ability to pass a stringent background.  
  • Ability to type using a computer keyboard. 
  • Must have knowledge in the use of Microsoft Outlook.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.  
  • Salary: $14.54/hourly 

 

Officer II - Public Safety

Description

The Security Officer II is an armed position responsible for protecting tribal assets in the Casino and provides general security for customers and employees. When required will be responsible for armed escorts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  •  Protect Tribal assets against loss or theft, and provide armed escorts as needed.
  •  Stand assigned security post throughout the Casino.
  •  Provide security during the daily pull.
  •  Conduct the drop from the various gaming tables.
  •  Deliver chip fills from the main cashier’s cage to a table when requested.
  •  Provide cash vouchers to video personnel for problem machine payouts.
  •  Provide general armed security for casino patrons and customers.
  •  Enforce Casino and Security Department Policies & Procedures.
  •  Interact with guests and team members in a positive, professional manner.
  •  Participate and qualify in various training sessions, including biannual firearms     training.
  •  May be responsible for exterior security by way of bike or vehicle patrol.
  •  Performs other public safety related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified/sensitive information.
  • The Employee must be competent with various PC based software programs and standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain productive working relationship with co-workers and management and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong reasoning and guest relations skills.
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to obtain a NIGC key license. 
  • A current BSIS Guard Card and BSIS Exposed Firearms Card required.
  • Candidate will have to provide his/her own weapon.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Minimal 6 or more months experience with a licensed Security company performing officer or guard duties; or prior military service performing military law enforcement or military security related duties; or a collage degree in a law enforcement, administration of justice, or security related degree program. 
  • Two years prior experience in law enforcement, security or gaming agency position preferred.
