social services executive director

Location Social Services Department
Description

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, plan, organize and direct the overall operations and activities of Social Services, Substance Abuse Prevention, and Child and Family Services programs and departments; coordinate and direct personnel, resources and communications to meet identified Tribal community and social service needs and assure smooth and efficient activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in social services.
  • Experience with budgets and grants.
  • Availability to administer and follow grants regulations.
  • Previous experience in a managerial capacity in a larger municipality or agency preferred.
  • Must have proven management experience with the ability to oversee multiple departments.
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent; minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Business Administration or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Current CA State Driver’s license & ability to be insured under Morongo’s Policy

     

 

Maintenance Custodian

Shift/Hours Full Time
Location Morongo Travel Center
Description

Under the direction of the General Manager, perform the following tasks: clean the entire store, restrooms, slot area, and the outside restrooms; power washes the outside of the building, pump area and islands, the car wash and parking lots.  Perform minor repairs to car wash, store and fuel pumps. Dispense propane and assist customers with R.V. dumping. Maintain maintenance logs daily.

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of one (1) year related experience.
  • Training in gas station custodial duties is preferred. 
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and effectively communicate to customers, clients, and other employees is essential.
  • Candidate needs to be dependable and available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.  
  • Salary: $14.00/hourly


 

 
 

Slot cASHIER

Shift/Hours Full Time
Location Morongo Travel Center 
Description

Responsible for: processing cash outs for gaming customers, machine maintenance, log books, and reporting machine malfunctions. Maintain the gaming operation, including but not limited to, cashiering, and stocking cold boxes, shelves and stand ups. Sustain slot area and keep inventory on supplies needed for the area. Excellent customer service skills required.

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of two (2) year of previous cash handling and customer service experience required.
  • Six (6) months of gaming cashiering preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older. 
  • A valid Food Handler card required prior to starting work.
  • Must be able to pass stringent Gaming background.
  • Job requires lifting 50 lbs and availability to work nights and weekends.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred. 
  • Salary: $13.00/hourly


 

 
 

Human resources executive director

Location Human Resources 
Description

Plans and administers policies, procedures and programs relating to all phases of the Human Resources Department. The Executive Director is responsible for overall administration, coordination and evaluation of Human Resource Department functions. 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in HR, Liberal Arts or related field and ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of tribal experience in HR related capacity is preferred.  
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. 
  • Experience with various computer programs (i.e. HRIS, Microsoft Office, and etc.) is required. 
  • Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of Human Resource Development.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a pleasant and effective working relationship with Tribal Council, management, other staff and co-workers.  
  • Preferred SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.  
  • Master’s Degree Preferred 
 


 

 

Sergeant

Shift/Hours Full Time
Location Morongo Tribal Police
Description

Under the direction of the Tribal Police Lieutenant, organize and direct the activities and operations of the Tribal Police Department; coordinate personnel and resources to assure security protection and safety enforcement activities are conducted adequately and according to established policies and procedures; train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. 

Qualifications

 

  • Graduation from high school (or GED); AA or equivalent preferred AND
  • Possession of a California Intermediate POST Certificate.
  • Out of state Intermediate (or equivalent) POST certificates will require a California POST Waiver Letter (to be obtained within one year of hire).
  • Five years of experience as a Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff, Tribal Law Enforcement Officer or other specialized law enforcement officer (Railroad Police, School/University Police, Port Authority, etc.).
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
  • Valid BSIS Guard Card.
  • Valid BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit.
  • Valid BSIS Baton and OC Spray Permit (to be obtained within one year of hire).
  • California Intermediate POST Certificate.
  • California POST Waiver Letter – (to be obtained within one year of hire if applicable).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (obtain within 60 days of hiring).
